This healthy version of a strawberry daiquiri is not only delicious, but it’s also good for you. This cocktail is packed with vitamins and has amazing hydrating qualities, perfect for a hot summer day. Watermelon is also great to eat in the summer days as it preps your skin for a nice tan.
Watermelon: hydrates, detoxifies, cleanses on a cellular level. Reduces inflammation and boosts the immune system. The black seeds calm the nervous system and lower blood pressure.
Strawberries: nutritional powerhouse. Rich in antioxidants which boosts their ability to rebuild, repair, and rejuvenate the body. Immune system boosting thanks to its high vitamin C content.
Vanilla: anti-inflammatory and pain relieving properties. Calming effect on the nervous system (great for anxiety and stress). Greatly aids digestion, decreases headaches. Contains zinc, iron, calcium, magnesium, and iron.
So what’s not to love about this healthy cocktail? It’s also perfect to offer to your guests on a warm summer day. It’s always a big hit at home! And for those who can’t do a cocktail without alcohol – they can always add a tad of vodka in it.
3-4 cups of watermelon, cubed
1 cup of strawberries, frozen (you can also use fresh ones)
pinch of vanilla powder
1 lime (optional)
– Slice the watermelon open, peel the skin off with a sharp knife and cut in small cubes. Place in a high speed blender. Add the frozen strawberries and a pinch of vanilla powder. You can also add a tad of lime juice.
– Blend on high until you reach a slushy consistency.
– Serve in cocktail glasses and garnish with a strawberry and lime wedge.
Enjoy! This drink is particularly soothing for those suffering from a sensitive nervous system (and perfect for us floxies!)
And my advice: make sure to buy organic strawberries. Strawberries are the MOST sprayed fruit in the world and you really want to go organic on this one.
